It's been easy to keep my Blancpain X Swatch Scuba Fifty Fathoms Green Abyss on wrist for over a week because it wears well on wrist and I think looks pretty good, too, especially on The Strap Tailor Green AquaFlex FKM Rubber Strap I recently got for it. It has a nice sailcloth-like texture that has the look of sailcloth, but is no doubt 100% waterproof because it is all FKM rubber.
However, there is currently only a stainless steel version of the deployant clasp. It's ok and works. But, for this specific watch, I always felt the hardware should be black to match better. As such, I recently purchased an 18mm black deployant clasp from StrapHabit to replace the Strap Tailor's stainless steel one.
It's an easy swap and fits just the same. I suspect most of these aftermarket strap places get their hardware from the same source, just change a small detail to make it their own.
I have to say the StrapHabit clasp operates a little smoother. I was thinking it may have been nice to get it in a more matte or brushed black finish. But, the gloss black finish actually matches the gloss black look of the Green Abyss's bezel insert.
Additionally, the StrapHabit clasp is more rounded as opposed to The Strap Tailor's which is more angled guy and has a slight point in the middle, which actually matches better to the rounded and curve forms of the watch.
If you can find my previous post, you can see how they compare and differ.
I think this watch's look with the finishing details is now complete when paired with the green Strap Tailor AquaFlex strap and the StrapHabit black deployant clasp. I may purchase another AquaFlex in black for another aesthetic look with the Green Abyss. When I do, I will likely purchase another 18mm black deployant clasp from StrapHabit to go with it, too.
