Frak! - BBC Micro Longplay.

This is " Frak! " for the BBC micro.
It was released in 1984 by Aardvark Software and developed by Nick Pelling.
I recently got hooked by this game as it is very addictive and so i thought that a longplay would be a good idea.
Frak! is a platform game and i believe that is so emblematic for the BBC micro as Manic Miner for the Spectrum.
It is also the most pirated game for this platform.
There is a hacked copy of the game in which the Frak word is replaced with the word Fuck, and the monsters are replaced with naked women and a baby!
Oh! and the main character now has an... erection!
Frak! is a very hard and unforgiving game.
Except from the monsters there are flying daggers and balloons that may appear anywhere on the screen. One touch with these and you are history!
Controlling the main character is a difficult job. Almost every jump you perform demands pixel perfect precision and the main character dies instantly if he falls from more than one meter!
Very often the controls are becoming quite unresponsive, especially when there are many objects on screen.
Collision detection acts in strange ways. It seems to be OK in the front and the rear of the main character, but often you will see a dagger killing you while it is enough pixels away from the back of your head.
The game has 3 levels in total due to memory limitations of the BBC micro. After those three levels the game restarts from the first level but everything is up side down!
This is a trick that the programmer used to extend the gamemplay. Clever and very challenging at the same time!
Another thing to mention is that when the timer reaches to zero, you don't lose a life but lights are turned off instead!
I definitely recommend you give it a try.
