Here is some info about this new Touhou character that was released with the new game.

Yachie is the fourth stage boss of Touhou 17: Wily Beast and Weakest Creature, the "Leader of the Kiketsu Group" that launches surprise attacks. She is a turtle-dragon creature, a Jidiao or Kicchou (吉弔), with short, blonde hair, and a prominent dragon tail. She has the ability to erase other's willpower to resist her.

She is based on the Jidiao (吉弔), a Chinese Legendary creature said to have been seen in Guangzhou and Guangxi. The jidiao has the body of a tortoise with the head and tail of a dragon.

Her surname "Kicchou" is taken directly from the Japanese pronunciation of "Jidiao".

She and her group are responsible for luring the protagonist to the Animal Realm, as part of a staged invasion with the other animal groups. She's the boss of the Otter spirit.

Additionally she appears on Wily Beast and Weakest Creature's jewel case, along with Keiki Haniyasushin and Saki Kurokoma.

Along with Yachie; Mai Teireida, and Satono Nishida are the only Windows-era non-final or extra bosses to appear in a game's jewel case and among them, Yachie is the only stage 4 boss to have this distinction.
