4K Railfanning UP4014 BIG BOY Great Race Across the Southwest with UP4141 Houston to College Station

Well here it is folks! My views of the one and only UP 4014 Big Boy. What an amazing experience to see this beast alive and in action. The weather could've been better but we made the most of it and I would 100% do it again.

The video begins with the arrival of UP 4141, the surprise helper for the Houston - Palestine leg of the journey, into Houston UP Englewood yard on Sunday Dec 3rd. Then we pick up on Wednesday December 6th at the Sherwin St crossing on the UP Houston Sub for the arrival of the Big Boy into Houston. This is supposed to be a "no blow" zone but sure glad it wasn't this day!

The following day, Thursday December 7th, we made our way down to Amtrak station. We hoped the rain would hold off but it came on down anyway, it didn't stop anyone from coming out. We had a great time and even got to speak with Mr Ed Dickens himself! Enjoy the close ups and get a good look at the engine and the sights and sound from that day.

Friday December 8th UP 4014 was set to depart Houston Amtrak station and make its way to College Station for another overnight stay and a special ceremony to unveil the final resting place for UP 4141. We start at Amtrak station as the crew start to assemble the train for departure, we then head to the Silver St crossing to watch the train back out to Chaney Junction where it will take the north track up the Hardy Toll rd to Spring, TX. Next are the locations where we filmed to Big Boy on its way to College Station.
