EcoFlow Alternator Charger First Drive – Surprising Results (500W & 800W)

I finally got the EcoFlow Alternator Charger installed in my van and took it out for a real-world test. This video starts with a full walkthrough of the EcoFlow app — showing the settings, UI, and how to adjust charging limits — so you can actually see how it works in action.

Then I put it to the test on two short drives (about 15–30 minutes each). On the way out I capped charging at 500W, and on the way back I bumped it up to 800W. After both drives, I checked the temps on the charger and cables — and they were only just slightly warm. For my setup, I’ll mainly keep it at 500W to reduce long-term strain on the alternator, but it’s great knowing I can push to 800W when I need faster charging.
