মানসিক ও শারীরিক অক্ষমতা দেখিয়ে সিলেটে সরকারি চাকরি থেকে আগাম অবসর চাইছেন অনেক চাকরিজীবী। গত ২ বছরে বিভিন্ন স্তরের শতাধিক আগাম অবসরের আবেদন জমা পড়েছে। বিশিষ্টজনরা বলছেন, বিদেশে স্থায়ী হওয়া, পদোন্নতির সুযোগ কমে যাওয়াসহ চাকরির প্রতি অনাস্থা থেকেই বাড়ছে এই প্রবণতা।

Many government employees in Sylhet are seeking early retirement from government jobs citing mental and physical disabilities. Over a hundred applications for early retirement at various levels have been submitted in the last two years. Eminent people say that this trend is growing due to distrust in jobs, including settling abroad and reduced opportunities for promotion.
