Part Six of my project to walk from Land's End to Ness Point - the furthest western point of England to the furthest eastern point.
I left the lovely campsite and set off along quiet country lanes towards Bodmin Moor. Sadly the weather forecast wasn't good and I knew heavy rain was on its way.
True enough, it started when I reached St Neot and didn't let up for the rest of the day. Crossing the bleak expanse of Bodmin Moor, it was a relief to reach the café at Minions for a cheese toastie.
I found that the village of North Hill a few miles away was on a bus route, so set off towards it. The only shelter I could find was in a portaloo in the churchyard, and I soon felt dangerously wet and cold.
I originally planned to catch the bus to Launceston but due to a lack of accommodation, I booked into the Premier Inn in Liskeard instead. This meant a longer, colder wait for the bus, but it was such a relief to reach the hotel and a warm bed for the night!
