2022 CF Moto 700CL-X SPORT Test Ride Review
So let me start with the good things.
First of all, the brakes are stupid strong on the bike. The Brembo radial master cylinder and the monoblock caliper does the job pretty well. Also, the gearbox is really precise, the shifter has a bit long stroke, but you can get used to it. The clutch feels soft as well. Both of the leviers are adjustable.
The suspension is really sporty and stiff, this is a big advantage on twisty roads, but a compromise in the city. The bike wants to lean, but I don't trust the tires on it...it feels a bit slippery. The aspect of the bike is really nice. Carbon elements, nice finishes.
Unfortunately, I experienced a lot of cons on this bike...
Throttle. First of all the most annoying thing is the acceleration...Damn it's like a two-position switch: ON or OFF. The dosing of the throttle is impossible. Around 5000k RPM it has a lag, and then it starts to pull like crazy. There is no smooth transition between these two levels. If you try to dance the throttle on that ON/OFF edge, the bike will start to shake, and it becomes uncontrollable. (you don't want this in a corner leaned down...) Probably this will be fixed by a software upgrade.
Maps. The bike has 2 maps, ECO and SPORT. On Eco mode, the power is around 60%, but the feeling of the throttle is the same as described previously. Sport mode...well, I was afraid to accelerate hard when exiting a corner, because I didn't know what the bike would do under me.
Confort. The seat is a bit stiff, I was wondering for something softer.
The vibrations on the bike are strong. After 30 minutes of riding, I can't feel the brakes and the shifter with my leg. The mirrors are vibrating too, basically, over 80kmp you can't see anything in them.
Other issues. The Dashboard. Well, after 1h of riding, the dashboard gets crazy. The gear indicator can't indicate the correct gear and keeps changing between 3-4-3-4-3-4. At that moment I don't consider this a big issue until I wish to use the cruise control, which is deactivated at any gear change... So no cruise control :))
Another annoying thing is that there is no feedback from the turn signal switch. Neither at side movement nor at the push.
The exhaust it's pretty loud, but the sound it's not the nicest one. Probably with a carbon one would be different. (Surprisingly on the video sounds good)
