What if you ARE righteous and you don't have to act it!

Too often I ask a brother or sister, the big righteous/ holy question: " Do you know that you are the righteousness of God in Christ and what does that mean to you?"

The response is followed up by: "We have to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling" or "training" and other works related answers. (These verses are good but not the correct answer to the question. The explanation for the "work out your salvation" scripture is below. )

We need to read Romans 3:22; Ephesians 2:6; 1 Peter 2:9 and see that righteousness is not a quality we strive for because by faith it is already ours. We are seated in heavenly places and ALREADY ARE made right aka the righteousness of God in Christ.

But what if you already are the righteousness of God in Christ and the only doing you have to do is put on that robe of RIGHTEOUSNESS which is already yours!

Roman 3:22; 2 Cor 5:21

Working out our salvation with fear and trembling means...the answer is reverence and humility. God sees the humility. Pride is not going to fly. Pride is self-righteousness thus working out our salvation with fear aka reverence and with humility (not pride). When we BELIEVE we are the righteousness of God in Christ, there is no need to try to puff ourselves up to make ourselves feel better. That is enough! Praise God we are HIS righteousness!
