DR.Champakkara S.Suresh Kumar, M.A.,M.Phil. & Phd., is one of the leading and versatile vocalist in the field of Karnatic music. Currently he is working as a Karnatic Vocal Assistant professor, Department of Music , Bharathiar Palkalaikoodam , Affiliated to Pondicherry University , since 1997.
He is a B High Grade artist in all India radio and Doordarshan kendra. He has done his research in Bharatahidasan University , Trichy in the topic "THE ROLE OF COMPOSITIONS TO LEARN RAGAALAPANA IN SOUTH INDIAN CLASSICAL MUSIC" under the guidance of Dr. P. Uma maheshwari , Associate Professor , Tamil Nadu Govt. Music college , Coimbatore
