Is Jungsik Seoul actually worth the hype? Known as the pioneer of "New Korean" fine dining, Jungsik holds 2 Michelin stars and remains one of the most iconic tables in Seoul.
In this video, I’m taking you through the Signature Lunch Menu to see if world-class luxury has to break the bank. From the legendary banchan amuse-bouche to the famous Stone Statue dessert, we’re tasting every course to see if it lives up to its global reputation in 2026.
[00:00] Banchan (Amuse-Bouche) – The meal begins with a sophisticated "fanciest Banchan" ever, featuring a variety of bite-sized starters including mushroom broth, housemade tofu with pollock and seaweed, beef tartare with truffle, and glazed eel.
[02:52] Truffle Moo-guk (Radish Soup) – A beautiful, aesthetic radish soup garnished with truffle "flowers" and stacked radish mille-feuille.
[03:42] Kam-tae Noodle – A chilled housemade noodle dish made with kam-tae (a type of seaweed) and topped with sesame oil.
[04:27] Ok-dom (Fish Course) – A white fish dish served in a savory umami broth, topped with crispy breadcrumbs for texture.
[05:13] Abalone Course – Incredibly soft, chunky abalone served with a buttery cream sauce and kimchi.
[05:54] Special Birthday Seaweed Paella – A complimentary dish provided for my birthday, inspired by the traditional Korean custom of eating seaweed soup on birthdays.
[06:42] Main Course: Duck – A juicy duck breast main with crispy skin, served alongside sides like yakgwa (sticky rice cake), chestnut, and fried burdock. (The best duck of my life!)
[07:53] Dessert Course 1: Sorbet – A refreshing citrus sorbet to cleanse the palate before the main desserts.
[08:13] Dessert Course 2: Dol Hareubang & New York/Seoul – The main dessert highlights, including a "stone grandfather" sculpture from Jeju Island made of mousse and a caramel-cream pastry. (The most beautiful dessert of my life...!)
[09:52] Final Dessert: Goguma & Tea – The meal concludes with sweet potato-flavored chocolates (guma) and traditional pumpkin and tangerine skin teas.
