'I've had a couple experiences' - Michael Keaton on ghosts and returning as Beetlejuice

Michael Keaton opens up about his return to the iconic role of Beetlejuice, a character he hasn’t played in over 30 years. Speaking to Screentime's John Fardy, Keaton shared that slipping back into the role wasn’t as difficult as some might think. Despite the decades that have passed, he admitted, “I had to go back and look at it again... and I found myself just laughing.” This nostalgia trip wasn’t just for him, though—director Tim Burton, surprisingly, didn’t even rewatch the original before diving into the sequel.

But the conversation didn’t just stick to movie roles. Keaton also touched on the supernatural, revealing that while he’s not entirely sure about the existence of ghosts, he’s had a few “unusual experiences” himself. When pressed further, Keaton remained open-minded, saying, “I know there’s something else... it’s impossible that this is all there is.”
