INDIAN MASALA CABBAGE
Ingredients you’ll need -
Green cabbage - 500 gms
Onion (thinly sliced) - 200 gms
Green chillies (finely chopped) - 10 gms
Potato (peeled and cut into small dice) - 200 gms
Green peas - 100 gms
Tomatoes - 200 gms
Groundnut oil - 70 ml
Bay leaf - 2
Cumin seeds - 1.5 tsps
Fennel seeds - 1.5 tsps
Cinnamon stick - 1 (5inch)
Turmeric powder - 1.5 tsps
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Cumin powder - 1.5 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
Cilantro (Chopped) - for garnish
Salt - to taste
1. Heat oil in a pot over a high heat.
2. Once hot add in the whole spices and let them sizzle.
3. Add the onions saute for about 3 minutes while moving them constantly then add the green chillies and continue sauteing for about 2 more minutes.
4. Then add the potatoes and cook for 3 minutes until slightly browned.
5. Now add the cabbage, turmeric powder, salt and mix well.
6. Reduce the heat to medium low and add the green peas and tomatoes then cover the pot with a lid and let it cook for 10 minutes till he cabbage and the potatoes are softened.
7. After that add in the cumin powder, red chilli powder, garam masala then mix well cover the pot with the lid again and cook for another 5 minutes.
8. Serve it with some warm rotis and enjoy.
