CAIRO METRO - HOW SAFE FOR FOREIGNERS?? - مترو القاهرة - TWENTY CENTS U.S. Fare

The Cairo Metro - مترو القاهرة - is Africa's first and largest Metro with 3 lines and plans for further expansion. It is quite easy to use and a bargain at only 5 EGP ($0.20 Cents U.S.) for up to 9 stations. The system is very safe with checkpoints to enter stations and ample Police on platforms. Trains can be crowded and stuffy, only some have A/C. I did not see any foreigners using the Metro. However it was very safe, economical, and convenient way to navigate Central Cairo.
