TORSUS and MAN Truck & Bus Forge Stronger Partnership to Manufacture Toughest Off-Road Bus Chassis

TORSUS, renowned for creating the world's most rugged off-road buses, proudly announces an expanded collaboration with MAN Truck & Bus. This partnership entails MAN Truck & Bus manufacturing the skeletal chassis for the formidable TORSUS PRAETORIAN. Since 2017, these two industry leaders have worked closely to develop the world's most capable off-road bus. Operating from its cutting-edge 300,000 square-meter manufacturing facility, MAN Truck & Bus, a center of bus manufacturing excellence, employs a highly skilled workforce of 2,700 to meticulously craft each TORSUS PRAETORIAN skeleton. This ensures that the buses meet the highest quality standards, no matter where they're destined across the globe.

Yulia Khomych, Chief Strategy Officer at TORSUS, expresses pride in the enduring collaboration with MAN Truck & Bus, citing their expertise in producing high-quality buses and coaches. The partnership ensures that the PRAETORIAN's skeleton chassis is stronger and stiffer than ever, thanks to similar manufacturing processes and techniques used for their own buses.

MAN Truck & Bus employs precision welding processes, protective gases, cataphoretic painting for corrosion resistance, varnishing, and a final coat of paint. This meticulous approach guarantees the utmost quality before the product heads to TORSUS' dedicated assembly plant in Horné Srnie, Slovakia.

The PRAETORIAN, a 10-tonne 4x4 off-road bus based on an upgraded MAN TGM chassis, is designed to safely transport up to 35 people and their gear through the most extreme environments worldwide. Powered by a 6.9L six-cylinder MAN diesel engine delivering 286bhp and 1,150Nm of torque, coupled with a heavy-duty 4x4 off-road transmission, the PRAETORIAN can effortlessly conquer a 65 percent incline. It is engineered to excel on any terrain, in any weather condition, anywhere on the planet.

The MAN Truck & Bus Starachowice plant annually produces over 1,600 buses and 520 bus chassis, which are exported to numerous countries worldwide, including Germany, France, Georgia, Norway, Sweden, and Saudi Arabia. This strengthened partnership between TORSUS and MAN Truck & Bus marks a significant milestone in the world of heavy-duty off-road buses.
