Armenia Tree Project’s mission focuses on the preservation and propagation of Armenia’s ancient wine grape varieties, including the Areni and Tozot species. Through a carefully structured, multi-step process, the project nurtures these seedlings in controlled environments to ensure their growth, cold resistance, and disease resistance. After passing through rigorous testing and lab procedures, the seedlings are grafted onto phylloxera-resistant rootstocks to ensure their sustainability.
With a commitment to strengthening Armenia's agricultural heritage, the project’s goal is to cultivate healthy, resilient vines for farmers across the country. Through its nurseries in Chiva and Khachpar villages, Armenia Tree Project continues to safeguard Armenia’s viticultural future while maintaining the integrity of traditional local varieties.
