I’ve been binge reading sci-fi as well as writing novels and short stories for several years now. Each of these stories have influenced me in some way or another. I also decided to limit my list to one book per author, otherwise the top five would have all been Gene Wolfe. Whoops that might have been a spoiler. But if you didn’t want to be spoiled, you wouldn’t be reading so deeply into the description. I guess if you’ve made it this far, you might be willing to check out my rock band, Sleepcycle.
