They Stole $20 Million Dollars From The US Government

Richard Ayvazyan, 43, and his wife and co-defendant, 37-year-old Marietta Terabelian are the scammers who fraudulently obtained more than $20 million in Paycheck Protection Program and Economic Injury Disaster Loan funds intended for COVID-19 relief. Officials said eight people were involved in the fraud ring, all related to one another. They applied for 150 loans using fake or stolen identities and used the money to purchase luxurious homes in three California cities, gold coins, diamonds, jewelry, luxury watches, imported furnishings, designer handbags, and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The U.S. Secret Service announced that at least $100 billion has been stolen from COVID-19 relief programs set up to help businesses and people who lost their jobs due to the pandemic. In addition to seized funds, the Secret Service has returned more than $2.3 billion of fraudulently obtained funds by working with financial partners and states to reverse transactions. Over 900 criminal investigations have been opened into pandemic fraud, with cases in every state, and 100 people have been arrested so far.
