I picked up a couple of Bradford Pear crotches during our last hurricane. There were lots of oaks blown over by the high winds, but I was looking for other types of wood besides Oak. I split the crotch, taking out the pith. This is the piece I got from that.
A couple of designers were looking for display items when showing their projects, and I knew candle holders always make nice decorations.
