Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC/CUNY) is proud to present free performances from their music, speech, communication, and theater arts departments each month on our Lobby Stage. Performances will feature the college’s extraordinarily talented students showcasing a wide variety of contemporary and original material.
The Music and Art Department offers over 200 classes in music performance, music history and theory, studio art and art history, providing all BMCC students with opportunities to explore different visual media and musical outlets. Our faculty of professional artists, art historians and musicians teach and mentor students.
Music Program
BMCC offers an Associate Degree in Music with specializations in Music Studies, Music Education* or Music Performance. The Music Program provides a curriculum that includes the basics of musical performance, music theory, keyboard skills, ear training and sight singing.
Entrance into the Music Education and Music Performance tracks require an audition.
The Music Department provides practice rooms and music tutoring. There are numerous ensembles students can audition to join.
