I went out targeting perch one day, equipped with soft plastics and little jigs, and basically skunked. After that I realized I would need to step it up by actually using bait, so I went to the pet store and to the local backwaters and acquired 4 types of bait, all of which produced at least one perch, but one being the clear winner. I can't believe we actually got a month+ of ice this season, with no real end in sight.
