Watch my end of season maintenance of Zephyr IV's Volvo Penta 2003 diesel boat engine. This includes the oil filter replacement and an oil change. I also replaced the fuel pre-filter and the fine fuel filter and bled air from the system. Also replaced the raw water pump impeller and gasket.
Regular Maintenance of you your boat engine keeps it running well. It's especially important for diesel marine engines where clogged filters can cause real problems.
Check out the filter that Volvo are suggesting to replace the discontinued fine fuel filter, it simply will not fit. I found a replacement that is used on a model of the Ford Transit, that works fine.
The Volvo Penta 2003 engine is 30 years old now but after an annual service and maintenance it still runs very well, and hopefully will continue to do so for a few years yet.
