Volkswagen Phaeton W12: Luxury Limousine's Stunning Transformation with Full Detailing

Designed by the imfamous Ferdinand Piech with 10 oddly-specific requirements, the Volkswagen Phaeton W12 is one of the most luxurious saloons you've probably never heard of. Piech demanded the car be able to drive all day long at 186mph, in 122 degree heat, while maintaining an interior temperature of 72 degrees. It had every luxury amenity known to man on-board the Phaeton, which being designed along side the Bentley Continental GT, makes complete sense.

This rare W12 Phaeton made its way to our car detailing shop to have THE WORKS done to it! We performed a full dry ice cleaning, both of the undercarriage, and the wheel wells, completes a wash, full paint correction, and deep cleaned the interior. We finished an Artdeshine ceramic coating, along with a handful of other things like painting the calipers, installing window tint, and applying ppf.

Unfortunately, the Volkswagen Phaeton was not a big seller, making this one of only 1939 Phaetons in America. If you think about the mythology of its naming, it seems quite inevitable... Phaeton was the son of Helios, who insisted on taking his pop's chariot of the sun for a test drive, and ended up dead after Zeus shot him with a lightning bolt for not being able to control all that horsepower and crashing it in to the earth and the stars.

Seems kinda fitting for a W12 car that never made it out alive, doesnt it?
