Children’s Nebraska's Atrium has transformed into an enchanted forest, inspired by nature and the joy of childhood. Thanks to a generous donation from the Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundation, Children’s patients and families can now enjoy a welcoming, playful environment where they can feel calm and comfortable surrounded by a forest-like setting. The space is complete with a charming babbling creek that integrates innovative light and sound features. The natural elements woven throughout the Atrium will also improve the patient experience by offering fun interactive activities for our patients, like joining a scavenger hunt to discover all the adorable little critters. Local sculptor Matthew Placzek — the artist behind Children’s bear and umbrella sculptures — created the latest statue installments in the Atrium.
