The event will convene multidisciplinary experts and organizations committed to finding new solutions to address chronic absence from school. Leaders from the fields of health, education, and public health will share ideas of how we use chronic absence as a shared outcome for health and education, develop strategic partnerships to drive progress, and implement policies and programs to prevent absenteeism and promote school attendance. Participants will have opportunities to network, share insights, and foster collaboration. At the end of the event, participants will leave with a framework for action and a set of practical, collaborative strategies to tackle chronic absence in their own communities.
This event will be co-hosted by the Johns Hopkins University Center for School Health and the Bloomberg American Health Initiative at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health as well as Kaiser Permanente and Attendance Works.
