Leather Tooling Practice Strategy

Regardless of what style leather tooling you are aiming for, they all have a similar foundation. Swivel knife cuts, beveling, and shading are fundamental skills for any leather carving.

As with any craft, practice is necessary if you want to improve. In addition to tooling full patterns, it can be very helpful to do practice drills on extra scrap leather.
