In “Symphony”, I attempt to capture the intensity of emotions that often overwhelm and fragment us, but at the same time define us.
The central figure, a black and white face with closed eyes and a slightly open mouth, tries to convey a sense of introspection, of internal listening. The choice of black and white was a conscious decision to focus attention on form and expression, stripping away chromatic distractions.
The fragmentation of the female figure, achieved through horizontal bands of gray and color, is a powerful visual device that suggests a restless mind, a soul in search of its own integrity, perhaps lines of sheet music from some arcane symphony.
“Symphony” is a representation of the harmony that can emerge from chaos, of the beauty that hides in fragmentation. Each brushstroke, each line, each color, is a note in this visual symphony that I hope will resonate with the viewer.
