I ordered the carbontex washer from https://www.smoothdrag.com/wp/ , for $2.84 at the time of filming. Model #8**.
you'll need:
• ⁷/¹⁶ socket
• pick
• a degreaser of some kind(I used 91% isopropyl alcohol)
• paper towel of some kind
• Carbontex 8** washer
Directions
#1) Make sure gun is clear.
#2) Remove bipod from gun.
#3) Remove KMW Podloc to gain access to nyloc nut.
#4) Remove nyloc nut with the ⁷/¹⁶ socket. Slide stainless steel washer, and bronze washer from bipod shaft.
#5) Separate bipod body from leg assembly, it can be fairly difficult.
#6) Remove nylon washer from bipod shaft.
#7) Clean grease off of shaft if you want to have a more stiff bipod. This is entirely optional, and reversible.
#8) Slide carbontex washer onto bipod shaft.
#9) Slide bipod body onto bipod shaft, ensuring relief cut on bipod shaft is centered and at the 12°clock position allowing for the rollpin to mate with relief cut. This can be fairly difficult to firmly seat the bipod body up against the bipod leg assembly.
#10) Place bronze washer onto shaft, followed by stainless steel washer.
#11) Use ⁷/¹⁶ socket and torque down nyloc nut to your desired tightness. This is how you set overall stiffness.
#12) Place Podloc back onto shaft and tighten.
#13) Place bipod back onto rifle and check stiffness of bipod cant.
Repeat steps 11-13 until you achieve the stiffness you would like.
