From Season 03 Episode 13: Football season is over and everyone is gearing up for the summer months. The Panthers have their last spring practice and J.D. McCoy (Jeremy Sumpter) has been named #1 High School QB in Texas. Joe McCoy (DW Moffett) has made it clear that he doesn’t want his son playing under Coach (Kyle Chandler) and is gunning for Wade to replace him. Lyla (Minka) and Buddy go to his brother to ask for money for her to go to Vanderbilt. Tim (Taylor Kitsch) has second thoughts about college but his brother convinces him he has to go to set a precedent for future Riggins’. Tyra (Adrianne Palecki) is put on the waitlist at UT but is thrilled and disappointed when she gets in and realizes she will have to leave Landry (Jesse Plemons).
