In this video I show how I adapted a steel plate into a tilting table by attaching machined hinge blocks and sine bars spaced at 300mm. The tilt angle can be set directly with a digital angle tool or by using a gauge block stack and the sine function.
The wide spacing of the sine bars makes it easy to set small angles with accuracy. For example to set an angle of 0.2° (ie 12'), it needs a block stack of 1.05mm - no problem with standard gauge blocks.
