Never one to take assumptions for granted, I wanted to test just how soft a source of light a softbox really is. I tested the Canon 600ex ii rt flash in one of my 2ft x 2ft softboxes through a range of power settings.
The result is (fortunately) surprisingly dull actually haha
I then took photos of the lightbox again with different amounts of diffusion to check for hot spots, and as expected, the effectiveness of the even spreading of light falls apart drastically without the diffusion methods.
