10 Minute Ragi Ghee Dosa | Tips to make Soft & Fluffy Ragi Dosa | Mangalorean Style Ragi Thuppa Dosa
Instant Ragi Thuppa Dosa (Ragi Sponge Dosa with Ghee)
A soft, spongy, and healthy dosa made with ragi flour, rava, and leftover rice – perfect for a quick and filling breakfast.
Ingredients:
½ cup Ragi flour (finger millet flour)
1 cup Rava (semolina)
1 cup Cooked rice (leftover rice or substitute with poha)
1 cup Curd (yogurt)
1 cup Water
1 tsp Salt
½ tsp Baking soda
Ghee – for roasting
Method:
Prepare the Base Mixture:
In a large mixing bowl, add:
½ cup ragi flour
1 cup rava
1 cup cooked rice (or soaked poha)
1 cup curd
1 cup water
Mix well and set aside for 20 minutes to allow rava to soak and soften.
Grind the Batter:
After 20 minutes, transfer the soaked mixture to a blender.
Blend into a smooth, thick batter.
Add Seasoning:
Pour the batter back into the bowl.
Add 1 tsp salt and ½ tsp baking soda.
Whisk the batter well for 2 minutes until light and airy.
Make the Dosa:
Heat a non-stick dosa tawa or cast iron pan.
Sprinkle a few drops of oil, then sprinkle water and wipe it with a tissue to cool the surface slightly.
Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan – don’t spread it too thin.
Wait 1 second, then cover the pan with a lid and cook on medium flame for 1 minute.
Once holes appear and the dosa is cooked, drizzle ghee generously on top.
No need to flip. Once the base is golden, remove and serve.
Serving Suggestion:
Serve hot with coconut chutney, jaggery, or sambar. It's soft, fluffy, and tastes divine with ghee.
