Fog comes and goes, light shifts, and the composition evolves. In this video I’m working the scene in the Neander Valley in NRW Germany, close to Düsseldorf—staying with the same subject/scene through different conditions—to show how patience and small adjustments lead to stronger images.
01 – Scouting, location and first composition
03 – Lone tree by water; clearing the fence
03 – f8, 1/10s and exposure decisions
50 – Sunlight arrives; patience and returning to tripod marks
54 – Four different compositions without moving an inch
17 – Centered tree framing and sunset idea
00 – Wrap-up: working the scene and lessons learned
