Here is the first set of the Bill Frisell Quartet that I captured at the jazz club Fat Tuesday's on a warm Wednesday night in August 1987. This band had already recorded the "Lookout For Hope" album for ECM earlier in the year, but it wasn't released until 1988. Many of the tunes in this set are from that album. It was a surreal experience listening to this short-lived band playing some really crazy music. This might have been the first time I saw Joey Baron live, and I was hooked. I was already a Frisell nut. I caught two sets and have also uploaded the second one on this channel. The image on the right is the Village Voice ad for the show.
