I’ve been writing so much music for other people lately. Music other people haven’t even asked to hear, and seemingly don’t care to hear. Chasing down film composing jobs nobody asked me to audition for. Sending endless unsolicited emails. Finding doors locked, so climbing through windows, just to find no one is in the room I broke into. It’s created (ironic) some creative burnout, and the only way I know how to overcome creative burnout is to wholeheartedly write to serve whichever musical itches I need to scratch. This time, it’s this - ‘If Only This Fear Would Leave Me’. A title stolen from a WWI poem. A line that resonates with the uncertainties of life sometimes.
