Fabulous chat with Merie Weismiller Wallace SMPSP unit still photographer as she takes us into her world shooting on film sets and the stories behind her images, how she captured them and the thought process that goes into creating amazing images from Motion Pictures. Merie gives some great advice for aspiring SMPSP photographers and those that have an interest in pursuing a career in the Film industry as a Unit Still Photographer.
Merie is widely known for her still photographic work in feature film production, and also contributes to various publications and gallery exhibits. She received her Masters degree from USC Film School, and has since worked around the world with noted filmmakers including Clint Eastwood, James Cameron, Alexander Payne, Kathryn Bigelow, Sam Raimi, and Terrence Malick. A member of the Society for Motion Picture Still Photographers (SMPSP), she served as President for two years. Merie was one of nine semifinalists in the competitive Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting, from a group of 1,400 entries.
