The Festool DFC 500 Cordless DOMINO Joining Machine from ITS delivers the precision, stability, and versatility of the iconic DOMINO system-now with full cordless freedom.
Built for demanding joinery applications, this 18V battery-powered machine is designed to handle everything from delicate frame joints to robust carcass assemblies, without the need for a power outlet or trailing cables.
At the core of the DFC 500 is Festool’s patented pendulum routing system, a unique mechanism that simultaneously rotates and oscillates the cutting bit. This dual motion produces an elongated, perfectly smooth mortise that mimics traditional mortise-and-tenon joints, only faster and more accurate.
The pendulum action significantly reduces friction and heat build-up, which not only protects your cutter but also extends the lifespan of the machine itself.
With an idle engine speed of 18,500rpm, the DFC 500 guarantees clean, tear-free mortises in softwood, hardwood, MDF, plywood, and other sheet materials.
You can select between five pre-set routing depths (12mm, 15mm, 20mm, 25mm, and 28mm), and the tool supports a maximum routing depth of 28mm, making it capable of cutting deep, strong mortises for structural joints as well as shallow grooves for lighter assemblies.
The cutter accepts DOMINO tenons in slot cutter diameters of 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm, which allows you to adapt seamlessly to varying material thicknesses and application requirements.
The routing height is adjustable between 5-30mm, ensuring accurate vertical alignment even when working on thin stock or awkward edges. For complex angles and end-to-edge joints, the mitre routing range of 0–90° lets you fine-tune positioning for corner connections, compound joins, and creative architectural detailing.
Designed for field use, the DFC 500 weighs just 3.4kg without accessories, making it highly portable and easy to operate one-handed when needed.
The ergonomic spade handle, finished with a soft rubber overmould, provides superb grip and control, even during prolonged sessions or overhead work.
The four integrated stop pins on the baseplate make it easy to repeat dowel placements without measuring. These reference points are essential for batch work, ensuring exact spacing and alignment when routing multiple tenons in long panels or stiles.
The rigid column guide system keeps everything square and stable, even when applying lateral pressure to the tool.
As with all tools in the DOMINO range, the DFC 500 is compatible with Festool's system of accessories and connectors, including quick-assembly hardware for flat-pack and modular furniture. The DOMINO connectors are ideal for professional cabinet makers and fitters who need sturdy joints that can also be taken apart for transport or adjustment.
Dust extraction is optimised via a 27mm diameter port, which works with Festool’s Bluetooth-compatible cordless extractors. As soon as you power up the DFC 500, your extractor switches on wirelessly-keeping your work surface clear, your lines visible, and your lungs protected.
From shop-built joinery to on-site installations, the Festool DFC 500 delivers everything DOMINO is known for-strength, alignment, and speed-now in a fully mobile format that’s always ready to work.
