Founded by Jai Singh II in 1727, Jaipur is renowned as the 'Pink City' due to the pink hue of its many buildings and structures. Jaipur is a popular tourist destination, part of the Golden Triangle tourist circuit along with Agra and Delhi, and serves as a gateway to other cities in Rajasthan.

The city is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and is a must-see for anyone visiting India. Visitors can explore the City Palace, a complex of several buildings including Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal that demonstrates a fusion of Mughal and Rajput architectural styles.

Hawa Mahal, or the Palace of the Wind, is also an iconic landmark in Jaipur with its intricate latticework and red-pink sandstone. North of town, travelers can explore the network of interconnected fortresses, including Amer Fort, Jiagahr Fort, and Nahargarh Fort, as well as the Jal Mahal palace.

Other activities include trying Rajasthani street food and a Rajasthani thali – a large platter of food that comes with an assortment of vegetables, side dishes, chutneys, curries, bread, and rice – which varies from region to region. Jaipur has something to offer everyone!
