hello friends in this video we are going to visit HARIHARESHWARA TEMPLE (HARIHARA)

An ancient 800 yrs old Harihareshwara Temple is a Hindu temple situated in Harihar, Karnataka state, India. The temple was built in c. 1223–1224 CE by Polalva, a commander and minister of the Hoysala Empire King Vira Narasimha II. Harihara is combination of Hindu Gods Hari (Vishnu) and Hara (Shiva) who incarnated to kill demon Guhasura. The city Harihara got name from the same temple.
The temple has about 60+ pillers and beautiful stone carvings. There are many inscription stones found in and around this temple which are of Hoysala and Vijayanagara period.
ஹொய்சளர்களின் காலத்தில் கட்டப்பட்ட இந்தக் கோவிலிலிருந்தே இவ்வூருக்கு “ஹரிஹர” என்று பெயர் வந்ததாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது.

கி.பி. 1224-ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஹொய்சளர் மன்னன் இரண்டாம் நரசிம்ஹனின் தண்டநாயகன் பொல்வாளன் இந்தக் கோவிலை நிர்மாணித்ததாக கல்வெட்டில் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இங்கு ஹரிஹரேஸ்வரர் மூர்த்தி சிவனின் உடலின் அரைபாகமும், விஷ்ணுவின் உடலின் அரைபாகமும் இணைந்த உருவமாக உள்ளது. கருங்கல்லால் வடிக்கப்பட்ட ஹரிஹரேஸ்வரர் மூர்த்தி சுமார் ஏழு அடியளவு உயரம் கொண்டது. இந்த மூர்த்தியின் எதிர

The Harihareshwara Temple at Harihar in Karnataka state, India, was built in c. 1223–1224 CE by Polalva, a commander and minister of the Hoysala Empire King Vira Narasimha II. In 1268 CE, Soma, a commander of King Narasimha III of the same dynasty made some additions. The temple houses the deity Harihara, a fusion of the Hindu Gods Mohini and Shiva. The image of the deity is a fusion of the right vertical half of Shiva and left vertical half of Female Vishnu. The image holds in its right hand, the attributes of Shiva and in the left hand, those of Vishnu.
