Just having a laugh with my son: Trying for pollock and wrasse under piers and from rock marks

Sometimes the best fishing trips aren’t about chasing trophies or landing monsters – they’re simply about having a laugh and making memories. In this video, I head out with my oldest son Ethan on a fun-filled fishing day across Finnøy and Mariero, Norway.

We kick things off under the pier in Finnøy, where we drop lines and try to tempt some pollock from the structure. Fishing under piers is always exciting – you never know when a big pollock might slam your lure and head straight back to cover. For us, though, it’s all about the fun, the laughs, and spending time together out on the water.

After Finnøy, we head over to Mariero to mix things up with gobble sticky bait and metal lures, testing different techniques and enjoying whatever bites. Fishing with kids is always unpredictable, and that’s what makes it so rewarding. Ethan brings his own enthusiasm and sense of humor, which makes this video a light-hearted watch for anyone who loves family fishing trips and the joy of passing the passion for angling down to the next generation.
