Adenomyosis used to be considered a disease of women who had completed childbearing, and the standard answer was hysterectomy. That is no longer acceptable for many of our patients. We are now seeing adenomyosis in younger women who are actively trying to conceive, including women preparing for IVF. These women want pain control, bleeding control, and — most importantly — a uterus that can carry a pregnancy.
In this episode we will discuss how to balance symptom relief with fertility preservation. We’ll look at how we diagnose and phenotype adenomyosis, how we medically optimise the uterus before conception or embryo transfer, and how conservative surgical and minimally invasive approaches can be used to treat adenomyosis while keeping the uterus intact.
This is exactly the focus of our ASPIRE Masterclass on fertility-sparing strategies in adenomyosis, and today’s conversation will give you a preview of that programme
