Exploring western Iceland

We explored more of the north of the Western region of Iceland on our day 2 road trip.

Súgandisey Island Lighthouse is the most distinctive landmark in Stykkisholmur, Snaefellsness.

Once an island, it is now connected by road. The rocky cliff where the lighthouse is located offers a pleasant stroll from the harbor with stunning views of Stykkisholmur and its surroundings. It is a great spot for watching sunsets, although it can get quite windy. The lighthouse provides an awesome lookout point where you can see the entire town and surrounding area on clear days. Visitors can also explore nearby attractions like Drapuhlidharfjall, making it a perfect destination for nature enthusiasts.

You see puffins here in summer. Since we were there in September, we couldn't see much of bird activities. Nevertheless, it was a beautiful day and we got to enjoy the nature and
some incredible views of the bay.
