HO Scale Southern Pacific AC-10 Cab Forward #4239 is an Intermountain model. The Southern Pacific purchased cab forwards because they had trouble with crew members breathing in too much smoke in tunnels and snow sheds along Donner pass. With the smoke stack to the rear of the locomotive and the cab in the front, this helped save lives of the crew and increased visibility of the track ahead.
