A horrific road accident in Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district claimed 24 lives when a speeding gravel-laden truck collided head-on with a state-run RTC bus near Chevella. The bus, traveling from Tandur to Hyderabad with 72 passengers, was crushed under the weight of the truck’s spilled gravel. Rescue teams used earthmovers to extract survivors from the mangled wreckage.
Among the deceased were the bus driver and a three-month-old baby girl. Several others were seriously injured and rushed to nearby hospitals. Preliminary investigations revealed the truck had prior traffic violations, raising concerns over enforcement failures.
