Highland Park’s population was bolstered by the Model T factory that Ford opened in 1910, the Crystler Headquarters and factories, and other manufacturing facilities that followed. Apartments like the Glen-Villa were built to house workers and their families; however, after the jobs left, the apartments fell into disrepair.
