Process of making Two Axes From an Old leaf spring
In this video I forged two axes from old leaf spring steel that I found in scrap. I heated the spring and used a chisel to cut out two blades. With the help of a hammer I shaped them into axe heads. After that I made the head pieces and welded them with the blades. I reheated the metal to complete the forging process and then ground the surface smooth. The blades were hardened by quenching in water. Finally I crafted two wooden handles refined them with a grinder and fitted them onto the axes. In the end I created two powerful axes with an impressive design.
