In a post-apocalyptic world overrun by the undead, a small group of survivors navigates treacherous landscapes and interpersonal conflicts while seeking a rumored safe zone. Their journey through abandoned towns and hostile wilderness is fraught with danger from both the infected and other desperate humans.

Driven by the hope of sanctuary and burdened by past losses, they face betrayals, moral dilemmas, and the potential for a cure connected to one member's scientific past. Ultimately, they confront not only external threats but also the corrosive effects of fear and the struggle for power among the living, leading to a final, desperate fight for survival and the possibility of a future.
