Over several years, UV/sunlight takes its toll on certain plastic components such as headlights and tail lights on a car, which can cause them to become yellowed, faded or matt in finish.
In this video I remove the rear inner tail lights from my 2010 Audi A3 1.6 TDI Sportback and restore them using a buffer and cutting compound. The results are great and the appearance of the lamps is vastly improved.
There are inspection covers which can be removed to facilitate removal of the lamp units to enable bulb replacement, however due to a rattle in the tailgate, I opted to remove the entire tailgate inner trim in order to determine the cause and rectify.
