Outlander | Jamie & Claire | If Ever You're In My Arms Again | Season 1 - 7

For today's video, I've once again chosen a song by the one and only Peabo Bryson. This song has also been on my list for some time, as it has always touched me in a very special way. However, the lyrics don't always quite fit with our lovers, Jamie & Claire. One of the lines that I find problematic is part of the chorus and is therefore repeated throughout the song. So I thought a lot about how I could make it work. In my opinion, the only option was to use a female cover version and tell the song from Claire's perspective, as this opens up a different scope for interpretation. Surprisingly, it was difficult to find a good female version of the song, perhaps because it is actually more suited to a male voice, or perhaps because, for me, it is so strongly connected with Peabo Bryson. I had already given up until I stumbled across the version by Gigi De Lana and The Gigi Vibes ➡️    / @thegigivibesband  . Gigi is a very talented and expressive Filipina singer, and this interpretation is no exception, even if it is not as perfect as a studio recording. However, one should not forget that this version was sung and played live.
What is the song about? I think the title gives you a clue. And so we accompany Claire as she returns to Scotland and learns that Jamie didn't die at Culloden. This realization serves as the framework and common thread for my video, leading Claire and us into a world full of memories and longings, but also into a future full of hope, fulfilled dreams and love, - straight into the arms of the man she loves and whom she will never leave again.
