Foreign troops from 17 countries gathered in Beijing to rehearse with Chinese troops for China's first war anniversary military parade on September 3, marking the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggressions and the World Anti-Fascist War.
Peraza is the leader of Guard of Honor from Cuba, and now he is living with his comrades in the suburbs of Beijing, and is going through daily training in the run-up to the major military parade.
Before they arrived in Beijing, they had already been trained for two months in Cuba for the parade.
Peraza said their troops had maintained an eight-hour training each day, and were often the last to leave the training site. He also added that his troops valued their country's presence in the military parade.
The friendship between Cuba and China was as long as the geographic distance between the two countries, Peraza said.
The Cuban formation to be reviewed on the parade consists of 82 soldiers and officers.
The days in Beijing for the foreign troops is not just about training.
Recently, military from all the 17 countries paid a visit to the city's Lugou Bridge, also known as the Marco Polo Bridge, the place where the Japanese aggressors lauched attack in north China.
Dmitry Bobroff is head of the Russian Formation in the upcoming parade. In Russia, he took part in the Red Square Victory Day Parade for several times, serving as the iconic National Flag bearer.
In the Second World War, his grandfather defended in Stalingrad against the German invaders and pushed the enemy way back to the German territory.
He thought it was a great honor to take part in the military parade in China, because through this event, he could honor together with the war heroes and remember that part of history.
In the V-Day parade, nearly 1,000 foreign soldiers and officers will march through the Tiananmen Square. The troops are from 17 countries, including China's neighbors like Russia and Pakistan, as well as those from the other side of the world, such as Mexico and Egypt.
This is probably the very first time in history that Beijing has witnessed so many countries' military to join in parade. They are undergoing intense training for the grand parade show on Spetember 3. Each soldier views this as an event of their own national pride and the memorial for those who perished in the Second World War.
